I have known Dan Gerken since 2004. He was referred to me through mutual friends as we were requiring a builder to complete an extensive home renovation. At this stage I was also looking to build an investment property, and was reviewing

Dan Gerken built the above property for me between June 2012 and March 2013. Based on this experience, I would recommend Dan unreservedly. I take this view for three main reasons:
Easy to Work With, Dan made the whole building project easy from end-to-end. He is easy to communicate with, attentive to clients' needs, a clear communicator himself and always available and accessible. His billing is regular,
transparent, and surprise-free. He offers sound practical solutions to construction issues and worked well with both my architect and the local planning office.
Attention to Detail and Product Quality: The above property is a polyblock house. The block we used (which we specifically imported) had never been used in New Zealand. Dan took care to understand the materials he was working with
and provided solutions and approaches that gave me a high-quality result. He has an extraordinary eye for detail and will always to the extra mile to ensure finishes - down to the finest detail - are of appropriate standard. Before
handing over the property, Dan ensured the grounds were appropriately landscaped. The site was clean, tidy and safe at all times.
Managing the Sub-Trades: I would highlight this as a particular strength. Dan is a tough taskmaster and ensures that all sub-trades deliver both to price and quality. Throughout the project, Dan was always thinking ahead to ensure
that the right people were on-site at the right time and we never lost time because trades were unavailable. We have had a very small number of post-handover snagging issues. Dan has been outstanding at following up and has worked
closely with me to ensure that sub-trades were attentive to the issues raised.
